The Arezzo Wave Foundation is calling one and all to help celebrate its 30th birthday with a huge festival.
The Love Festival, taking place from July 1-3, has built itself upon helping young Italian rock bands break through the music industry since 1987. Over the course of three days, 20 different bands will be performing at this year’s festival, as selected by the foundation.
The Italian music scene encompasses many different genres, all of which will be demonstrated by the emerging talents set to play at the Love Festival. The 20 selected bands were narrowed down from over 6,000 artists and 1,500 bands that auditioned for Arezzo Wave Band 2016, so listeners will be surely hearing the best of the best regarding up and coming music in Italy.
This year, all concerts will take place in the heart of Tuscany, in a sports field in Arezzo called San Giustino Valdarno. Two stages will house the various acts at set times, allowing alternating artists and acts to hit the stage and rock the young minds of avid music listeners. The festival will be entirely free.
Organizers are expecting a huge turn out of Italians from all over the country to congregate in Arezzo for the festivities. The lineup is an eccentric mix of band winners from all regions of the country as selected by the foundation, as well as a few acts outside of Italy.
The festival will open with reggae sounds of the ROTOTOM WAVE day on July 1st, with Jamaican reggae icon, Max Romeo. Several different nationalities and famous musicians will be a part of this year’s lineup, including Modena City Ramblers (also on the opening day), L’Orage, DeWolff and Italian Boyfriend on the second, and The Bluebeaters and Dubioza Kolektiv on the last. Listeners will get a taste of Dutch and Jamaican music, along with showing appreciation for their Italian roots.
It doesn’t end there– the festivities will continue at the club Dolceverde of Castiglion Fibocchi at the end of day one, and with the party “Arezzo Wave Nights” on the second and third at the same location. While it will mainly be electronic music, the three days of festivities will encourage everyone to dance, relax and enjoy the music as though it were their own birthdays.
